Troubleshooting Bose Amplifier

Mark or label amplifiers before removing from housing. This will aid in troubleshooting and not mixing amplifiers. There are two different types of Bose amplifiers in this enclosure. Front and rear amplifiers are equalized differently. Front amplifiers (2) control more mids and highs while rear amplifiers (2) control more mids and bass.

You should have already troubleshoot the speaker locations to determine which speaker location has snap, crackle, pop or high pitch squeal. Swap Bose amplifiers in housing. Reassemble, reconnect in car for testing.

If the problem has followed the amplifier to a new location, this is an amplifier problem.

If the problem continues to remain in the same location

  • This is a stereo problem

  • Or, speakers may need another look.

In many cases, with older Bose amplifiers, it is very likely if one amplifier is experiencing problems at this time, the others are not too far behind.
