Mercury Mountaineer and Ford Explorer Rear Door Panel and Speaker Removal and Replacement Mercury Mountaineer Ford Explorer How to Remove and Replace Speakers 1.1) Gently pry insert panel from door open handle releasing clips. 2.1) Gently lift up door control panel from front releasing clips. 2.2) Pull panel forward releasing rear latch on panel. 3.1) Release triggers on both connectors and remove control panel. 3.2) Remove one exposed screw from cavity. 4.1) Remove screw along bottom edge of door panel. 5.1) Lift door panel straight up releasing hooks and remove door panel. 6.1) Remove four screws securing 5" X 7" speaker from door.
