How to Remove Honda Pilot Car Stereo

Lower Dash

Removing, Replacing and Installing Honda Pilot Car Radio 1.1) Gently pry top right side edge of trim panel from dash releasing clips. All clips release with pressure.
How to Remove, Replace and Install Stereos 2.1) Work down right side trim panel releasing clips.
Removing, Replacing and Installing Honda Pilot Car Radio 3.1) Lift right side trim panel up to release bottom of panel to remove and set panel to side.
How to Remove, Replace and Install Stereos 4.1) Gently pry top left side edge of trim panel from dash releasing clips.

How to Remove Honda Pilot Front Door Speaker

Replacing, Removing and Install Honda Speakers 1.1) Gently pry top edge of small triangular panel from door releasing clips. All clips release with pressure.
Honda Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install 2.1) Pull top edge of panel back from door.
Replacing, Removing and Install Honda Speakers 3.1) Wiggle top edge of panel toward front of door and back of door while pulling panel up.
Honda Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install 4.1) Panel will release from lower door panel, remove and set to side.
Replacing, Removing and Install Honda Speakers 5.1) Gently pry back edge of control panel slightly up from arm rest to release clip.
Honda Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install 6.1) Slightly lifting side of control panel will expose back edge of control panel.
6.2) Pry at back edge of control panel to release clips.
Replacing, Removing and Install Honda Speakers 7.1) Lift back edge of control panel up.
Honda Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install 8.1) Pull control panel toward back of door panel.
Replacing, Removing and Install Honda Speakers 9.1) Hook on front of control panel will release, remove control panel from opening and turn over.

Honda Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install 12.1) Squeeze trigger on remaining connector into connector to release and remove.

Honda Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install 22.1) Pull assembly from door to allow access to door open handle linkage at rear of panel.

Replacing, Removing and Install Honda Speakers 24.1) Push side of white plastic lock away from linkage. Lock will swing away from linkage.
Honda Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install 25.1) Lift end of linkage up to release from small hole on door open handle assembly.
25.2) Remove door open handle assembly and set to side.
Replacing, Removing and Install Honda Speakers 26.1) At bottom rear edge of door panel, pry door panel from door to release clips.
Honda Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install 27.1) Work along bottom of door panel and up front and rear edges to release all clips.
Replacing, Removing and Install Honda Speakers 28.1) Lift bottom edge of door panel away from door, all door panel clips should be released.
Honda Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install 29.1) Lift back edge of door panel up out of window jam over door lock.
Replacing, Removing and Install Honda Speakers 30.1) Lift front edge of door panel up out of window jam to release door panel from door.
Honda Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install 31.1) Pull top edge of door panel back for access behind panel.
31.2) Locate courtesy light connector, release trigger on connector to disconnect. Remove door panel and set to side.
Replacing, Removing and Install Honda Speakers 32.1) Check door for any remaining door panel clips.
Honda Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install 33.1) Pry remaining clips from door.
Replacing, Removing and Install Honda Speakers 34.1) Place door panel clips into openings on door panel ready for reinstallation.
Honda Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install 35.1) Remove screws securing speaker to door panel.

Note - for determining aftermarket installation polarity of speaker wires (+ & -) for correct hook up see Speaker Phasing above.

Replacing, Removing and Install Honda Speakers 36.1) When reinstalling door panel, place top edge of panel down into window jam. Reach behind edge of panel to align door lock to opening.
Honda Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install Note - Before placing door open assembly, look closely at back of assembly for small hooks. Install door open handle linkage. Install back edge of panel first, tilting top edge away from door panel to hook bottom edge of panel second then slide into place.

Installing, Replacing and Removing Speakers 1.1) Pull door open handle.
1.2) Gently pry small insert panel from door open handle cavity at bottom or top pry opening.

Front Speaker Replacement, Install and Removal 2.1) Lift speaker grill from dash.
Front Speaker Replacement, Install and Removal 3.1) Pull connector and wiring up through opening.
Front Speaker Replacement, Install and Removal 4.1) Squeeze trigger on connector into connector.
Front Speaker Replacement, Install and Removal 5.1) Release and disconnect.

Note - Do not allow connector to slip back into dash opening.
