Honda Prelude Car Stereo Removal and Installation
Honda Prelude Car Stereo Removal and Installation Tech Tips 1.1) Remove four screws along side panel on passenger side of car. 2.1) Remove four screws along side panel on driver side of car. 3.1) Remove two screws above car stereo in trim panel. 4.1) Set Parking Brake. 4.2) Insert key into center console slot to release gear shift, shift to drive. 5.1) Gently pry trim ring from around gear shift and remove. 6.1) Pull side back edges of center console away from center console while lifting back of panel up. 6.2) Pull panel from front of dash and remove. 7.1) Remove two screws from each side of remaining dash trim panel. 8.1) Release trigger on connector for cigarette lighter power. 9.1) Pull car stereo from dash, remove antenna and power connectors from back of car stereo. 10.1) Loosen two screws from under car stereo securing it to mounting bracket. 11.1) Slide car stereo and pocket from mounting bracket. 12.1) Reinstall mounting bracket into car. 12.2) Be sure car stereo antenna and connector are free. 13.1) Snap mounting kit into mounting bracket. 13.2) Again, check that antenna and connector are free. 14.1) Slide new car stereo mounting sleeve into opening. 15.1) With flat head screw driver, bend tabs on sleeve to secure. 16.1) With aftermarket connector and new car stereo connector, splice together. 17.1) Connect spliced connector to factory connector for car stereo. 17.2) Install antenna connector into back of car stereo. 18.1) Slide new car stereo into mounting sleeve till car stereo locks into place. 18.2) Check car stereo before reassembly of dash. 19.1) Reassemble dash.

Honda Prelude Front Speaker Remove and Install Honda Prelude Front Door Panel Speaker Removal and Installation 1.1) Pry screw cover loose from screw in hand hold. 2.1) Remove screw and hand hold pocket from door panel. 3.1) Remove screw from top inside corner of door panel. 4.1) Gently pry screw cover from door open handle cavity and remove screw. 5.1) Gently pull insert trim panel from door panel. 6.1) Gently pry opposite edge of trip panel from door panel and feed door open handle thru panel to release. 7.1) Release trigger on panel connector and remove panel. (See Driver's Door below) 8.1) Remove screw from back bottom edge of door panel. 9.1) Pull bottom of door panel from door. 10.1) Lift rear edge of door panel up out of window jam, then front of panel to remove. 11.1) This speaker has deteriorated foam surround, the speaker cone has separated from the speaker frame. This is a bad speaker, causes distortion with high bass. 12.1) Remove three screws securing speaker to door. 13.1) Release triggers on each side of connector to remove speaker. 14.1) Cut speaker connector from car. 15.1) Aftermarket speaker have speaker terminals supplied to install new speakers. 16.1) Spice new leads to existing speaker wires in door. Right Front + RED Right Front - BROWN Left Front + BLUE Left Front - GRAY 17.1) Hook speaker leads to new speaker and mount speaker to door. Driver's Door 18.1) When removing insert panel, release two connectors from panel. 19.1) When installing new speaker, one tip, place your hand in a spot so that if you slip from screw while installing you do not poke a hole in your new speaker.
Honda Prelude Rear Speaker RePlacement and Install Honda Prelude Rear Speaker Removal and Installation 1.1) Remove three 10mm bolts securing speaker to rear deck from trunk. 2.1) Release triggers on each side of connector and remove. 3.1) Push speaker up and set to side on rear package shelf. 4.1) Remove rear speaker from package shelf. 5.1) Remove three screws securing speaker grill to speaker mount. 6.1) Remove speaker cover from speaker mount. 6.2) This speaker has deteriorated foam surround, the speaker cone has separated from the speaker frame. This is a bad speaker, causes distortion with high bass. 7.1) Remove three screws securing speaker to speaker mount. 8.1) Remove speaker. 9.1) Install new speaker into mount and secure with three screws. 10.1) Secure speaker grill to mount. 11.1) Cut speaker connector from car. 12.1) Spice new leads to existing speaker wires in door. Right Rear + RED Right Rear - BROWN Left Rear + BLUE Left Rear - GRAY 12.2) Reinstall speaker and connect speaker leads.
Honda Prelude Tweeter Speaker Removal and Installation Honda Prelude Front Dash Tweeter Speaker Removal and Installation 1.1) Reach to back of speaker grill cover. 2.1) Gently pull speaker grill cover straight from dash. 3.1) Release all mounting clips from grill cover and remove. 4.1) Factory Tweeter mounts back of speaker grill. Aftermarket tweeter installation in many cases will need some modifications for mounting. 5.1) Tweeter speaker colors, Right Front + RED Right Front - BROWN Left Front + BLUE Left Front - GRAY
