Nissan 300ZX '84-88 Car Stereo Removal Instructions (*NOTE - This stereo is manufactured by Hitachi, we no longer repair this unit or the stereo with equalizer from Panasonic/Matsushita) 1.1) Remove ash tray and two exposed screws. 2.1) Remove two screws along top edge of panel above A/C controls. 3.1) Gently pull trim panel from dash and set to side. 4.1) Remove two exposed screws below car stereo. 5.1) Remove two screws along top edge of A/C control. 6.1) Gently pull top edge of mounting bracket down to clear dash trim, be careful, it may get stuck behind dash trim while removing. 7.1) Pull car stereo from dash. 8.1) Disconnect all connectors and trim plate back light lamps with a 90 degree twist. 9.1) Car stereo removed from dash, now to remove car stereo from mounting bracket. 10.1) Remove mounting hardware from side of car stereo. 11.1) Remove mounting hardware from side of car stereo. 12.1) Remove mounting hardware from bottom of car stereo. 13.1) Back car stereo out of mounting bracket leaving face plate.
