RADIOS AND NAKAMICHI This car
stereo is commonly seen in shop
for many problems, tape not working, static on tape, stereo will not power up,
no audio when stereo is on, Nakamichi systems with no audio from one or more
speakers is usually a speaker problem, Nakamichi with no audio all speakers or
thumping from speaker may be an amplifier problem. Please see our link to

1) Release rear clips holding down the
center console trim by inserting a thin prying tool along the side near the rear and pulling up. 2) Work forward to the next set of clips about half way forward. 3) Set parking brake, release gear shift to low gear. 4) Pull the trim and ashtray rearward to release the front set of clips. 5) Disconnect connectors from panel and remove. |

1) Remove the vents/clock/temp gauge by
inserting a thin pry tool at the lower edge and pulling out one side then the other. 2) Disconnect connectors and remove vent and controls. |

1) Remove two exposed screws from top of AC control bracket. | |

1) Remove two exposed screws from below car stereo. | |
![]() |
1) Pull car stereo and AC control forward. 2) Disconnect all connectors from AC control and car stereo along with antenna. |

1) Remove screws from each side of car
stereo. 2) Remove car stereo from bracket. 3) See our Shipping page before sending for repair. |

location, under passenger seat of in trunk. 2) Under passenger seat requires seat removal. |

1) Remove two screw covers. | |

1) Remove two exposed screws. | |

1) Remove plastic cover for access to amplifier mounting screws. Mounting screws at back of amplifier on floor. | |

1) Pull amplifier toward rear seat to release front securing brackets. | |
