Pic 1 shows gear shift

Pic 2 shows where I wedged in tool (butter knife) to pop out the plastic trim retainers / snap snaps
Pic 3 shows me working tool around to get all retainers popped out.
Pic 4 shows the resulting opening
Pic 5 shows me remove one of two screws on the bottom right of the vent trim
Pic 6 shows removal of 2nd screw on left
Pic 7 shows trim tool at work again removing the trim for vent/radio
Pic 8 shows tool being worked around to pop out all vent/radio trim retainers
  Pic 9 shows the connector removed from lighter
  Pic 10 shows connecter with release, removed to free up vent piece.  Note:  there are 2 connectors on bottom of this assembly connecting to climate controls that are very hard to remove, so I opted to not remove, just lower piece out of way
  Pic 11 shows exposed radio  w/4 retaining screws.  Note: this pick shows the lowered assembly described in pic 10 with still attached connectors.
  Pic 12 shows removal of 1 of 4 screws (upple left)
 

Pic 13 shows removal of 2nd of 4 (upper right)

 

Pick 14 shows the bottom two you need to remove

  Pic 15 is a pretty back view of the back of the unit, showing the connectors, which have depression buttons you push to remove DIN connector.
