How to Remove and Install Front Speakers

How to Install Speakers, Removing and Replacing 1.1) Remove two screws along bottom edge of door panel.
How to Replace Speakers, Removal and Install 2.1) Remove one screw along front of door panel.
How to Install Speakers, Removing and Replacing 3.1) Gently pry small cover from arm rest.
How to Replace Speakers, Removal and Install 4.1) Remove exposed screw.
How to Install Speakers, Removing and Replacing 5.1) Gently pull top edge of small panel from door releasing clips.
How to Replace Speakers, Removal and Install 6.1) Pull panel straight up to release bottom hook from behind door panel.

8.1) There is a special tool for removing door handle clips. Most mechanics do not own one. There is a door handle and a small plastic washer. There are two other ways to attempt the removal.

How to Install Speakers, Removing and Replacing 9.1) Place a shop rag between door handle and washer. Pull shop rag up and down to wedge into opening. This may release the clip.
How to Replace Speakers, Removal and Install 10.1) If you are unable to release the clip in the above step, here is a second way to remove.
How to Install Speakers, Removing and Replacing 11.1) Push the door panel in along with the washer, this will allow you to look down the edge of the door and see the clip.
How to Replace Speakers, Removal and Install 12.1) With a pick tool, hook the door handle clip and pull to release.
How to Install Speakers, Removing and Replacing 13.1) Remove door handle and washer. Don't forget to install washer when reassembling.
How to Replace Speakers, Removal and Install 14.1) Removed door handle and clip.
How to Install Speakers, Removing and Replacing 15.1) Immediately place clip onto door handle. Door handle can be snapped back onto shaft when reinstalling. Don't forget the original position of the handle.

How to Install Speakers, Removing and Replacing 17.1) Work your way around trim panel to release all clips.
How to Replace Speakers, Removal and Install 18.1) Remove trim panel, look closely, this panel fits one way only.
How to Install Speakers, Removing and Replacing 19.1) Starting at bottom of door panel gently pry door panel from door releasing all clips.
19.2) Work your way up the front and back of door panel releasing remaining clips.
How to Replace Speakers, Removal and Install 20.1) Lift back edge of door panel up out of window jam and over door lock pin.
20.2) Lift front edge of door panel up out of widow jam and remove panel.
How to Install Speakers, Removing and Replacing 21.1) Remove four screws securing speaker to door.
How to Replace Speakers, Removal and Install 22.1) Check door for any door panel pins that were not removed with door panel.
22.2) Pry door panel pins from door.

How to Replace Speakers, Removal and Install 24.1) When reinstalling door panel, rubber grommet at door lock pin may pop off. Lift back edge of door panel up to reinstall and guide gently down over door lock.

Replacing Speakers, with Removal  and Installation 1.1) Open trunk for access.
1.2) Disconnect leads at both speakers.

Replacing Speakers, with Removal  and Installation 3.1) Release trigger on connector at center brake light.
Installing Speakers, with Removal and Replacement 4.1) Lower rear seat backs.
4.2) From rear deck, squeeze sides of cover at child seat lock downs.

Installing Speakers, with Removal and Replacement 6.1) Remove bolt from child seat lock down.
Replacing Speakers, with Removal  and Installation 7.1) Remove child seat lock down assembly.

8.2) Repeat for all child seat lock downs.
Replacing Speakers, with Removal  and Installation 9.1) Gently pry under rear deck.
Installing Speakers, with Removal and Replacement 10.1) This will release clip without bending the plastic sides of the clip.
Replacing Speakers, with Removal  and Installation 11.1) Repeat for all clips along the edge of the rear deck panel.
Installing Speakers, with Removal and Replacement 12.1) Gently lift center of rear deck panel up.
Replacing Speakers, with Removal  and Installation 13.1) Release both sides of rear deck panel from behind edge of side panel.
Installing Speakers, with Removal and Replacement 14.1) Pull entire rear deck panel toward front seats.
Replacing Speakers, with Removal  and Installation 15.1) Pull to allow access to rear deck speakers. Seat belt straps will remain in place. Lay rear deck down in place of upright rear seat backs.
Installing Speakers, with Removal and Replacement 16.1) Remove screws securing speakers to rear deck.

IMPORTANT - There are two (2) yellow*, two (2) gray and two (2) brown wires in this harness. Locate the +12 volt constant wire first. Label it or splice to constant wire on aftermarket stereo first. Swapping yellow wires will cause damage to any aftermarket stereo. Check fuses if your unable to find +12 volts.
