How to Remove and Install Car Stereo

How to Remove Camaro Car Stereo, Replace and Install 1.1) Remove four screws securing panel to dash.
1.2) Pull panel forward and drop to floor.
How to Remove Camaro Car Stereo, Replace and Install 2.1) Remove two screws exposed by dropping panel.
How to Remove Camaro Car Stereo, Replace and Install 3.1) Open glove box.
3.2) Remove three screws exposed.
How to Remove Camaro Car Stereo, Replace and Install 4.1) Pull car radio trim panel forward.
4.2) Remove two screws on the left of the radio.
4.3) Remove one nut from right side of radio.
4.4) Pull radio forward, remove antenna and connectors.

'How to Front Door Panel / Speaker Removal and Installation

Camaaro Bose Amplifier Repaiar 1.1) Remove screw from panel.
Camaaro Bose Amplifier Repaiar 2.1) Remove two screws from under arm rest handle.
Camaaro Bose Amplifier Repaiar 3.1) Remove screws from hand hold.
Camaaro Bose Amplifier Repaiar 4.1) Gently pry control panel from door.
4.2) Remove connectors, they are snug.
Camaaro Bose Amplifier Repaiar 5.1) Loosen top edge of inserted panel by pushing down to release clips.
5.2) With slight play in panel, place your finger behind door lock switch, pull to release and and remove. Now push remaining lock lever to "Lock" position to clear through panel.
Camaaro Bose Amplifier Repaiar 6.1) If you like puzzles this will be easy, remove insert panel over door open handle and feed  control panel connectors through opening.
Camaaro Bose Amplifier Repaiar 7.1) Remove one screw from panel and remove panel from door.
7.2) Grasp door panel and pull straight up to release door panel hooks from door and remove.
Camaaro Bose Amplifier Repaiar 8.1) Remove three screws securing Bose speaker frame to door panel.
8.2) Gently pry frame and speaker from door panel, rotate to remove from opening.
Camaaro Bose Amplifier Repaiar 9.1) Disconnect Bose speaker connector and release assembly from door panel.
Camaaro Bose Amplifier Repaiar 10.1) Unsnap cover from frame exposing Bose amplifier.
10.2) Remove connector from amplifier.
10.3) Remove four screws securing Bose amplifier and see Shipping page.

How to Remove and Install Rear Bose Subwoofer Enclosures and Repair

Camaaro Bose Amplifier Repaiar 1.1) Remove cover by lifting up to release clips and remove.
1.2) Remove one exposed screw at top of Bose subwoofer enclosure.
Camaaro Bose Amplifier Repaiar 2.1) Remove one screw at front edge of Bose subwoofer enclosure.
Camaaro Bose Amplifier Repaiar 3.1) Remove one screw at bottom of Bose subwoofer enclosure.
Camaaro Bose Amplifier Repaiar 4.1) Gently pull bottom edge of Bose subwoofer enclosure away from side of car. Watch carpet, it may catch on bottom edge of enclosure.
Camaaro Bose Amplifier Repaiar 5.1) Pull orange lock from connector.
Camaaro Bose Amplifier Repaiar 6.1) Depress connector lock and release, remove Bose subwoofer enclosure with speaker and amplifier/s.
*NOTES
3 Speaker System
- this enclosure contains one amplifier to control subwoofer.
5 Speaker System - this enclosure contains two amplifiers, one controlling subwoofer, the other controlling both rear seat speakers.

How to Rear Seat Side Speaker Removal
Bose Amplifier Repair and Removal 1.1) Gently push down on top of speaker grill cover releasing latches. Remove speaker grill.
1.2) Remove screws securing car speaker.

DO NOT CUT FACTORY WIRE HARNESS

We discourage cutting the factory wire harness.
This section aids in troubleshooting and determining wire color codes, phasing for speaker hook up, locating power wires for installing external devices and add-ons.
Diagrams may not be applicable to Bose Audio Systems
   
1978 - 1992
IMPORTANT - There are two (2) yellow*, two (2) gray and two (2) brown wires in this harness. Locate the +12 volt constant wire first. Label it or splice to constant wire on aftermarket stereo first. Swapping yellow wires will cause damage to any aftermarket stereo. Check fuses if your unable to find +12 volts.
