Chrysler Crossfire DIY Car Stereo Removal Guides
(Includes aftermarket car stereo installation)

Chrysler Crossfire Stereo Removal, Replacing and Installing 1.1) Car stereo "Din" removal tools.

Tools may be purchased at on-line stores or local auto part stores.

Radio Replacement, Removal and Installation Crossfire 2.1) Note angle of "Din" removal tool end.
Chrysler Crossfire Stereo Removal, Replacing and Installing 3.1) Slide tool into right opening on face of car stereo. Tool will lock into place.
Radio Replacement, Removal and Installation Crossfire 4.1) Note angle of "Din" removal tool end.
Chrysler Crossfire Stereo Removal, Replacing and Installing 5.1) Slide tool into left opening on face of car stereo. Tool will lock into place.
Radio Replacement, Removal and Installation Crossfire 6.1) Grasp ends of "Din" removal tools.
Chrysler Crossfire Stereo Removal, Replacing and Installing 7.1)  Pull car stereo from dash
Radio Replacement, Removal and Installation Crossfire 8.1) Push tab in on side of car stereo.
Chrysler Crossfire Stereo Removal, Replacing and Installing 9.1) Release "Din" tool and remove
Radio Replacement, Removal and Installation Crossfire 10.1) Release trigger on antenna connector to release and remove.
Chrysler Crossfire Stereo Removal, Replacing and Installing 11.1) Squeeze trigger on side of connector to release and remove.
Radio Replacement, Removal and Installation Crossfire 12.1)  In some cases, these two connectors are connected and it may require squeezing triggers on both connectors at same time to release connectors and remove.
Chrysler Crossfire Stereo Removal, Replacing and Installing 13.1) Remove car stereo.
Radio Replacement, Removal and Installation Crossfire 14.1) Aftermarket wire harness and antenna adaptor can be purchased at most car audio shops.

Chrysler Crossfire Stereo Removal, Replacing and Installing 15.1) Locate factory antenna connector.
Radio Replacement, Removal and Installation Crossfire 16.1) Connect antenna adaptor to factory antenna.
Chrysler Crossfire Stereo Removal, Replacing and Installing 17.1) Splice aftermarket car stereo wire harness to Metra wire harness.

Note - Metra wire harness is manufactured for Volkswagen. Colors do not match correctly. Constant +12 (Yellow) and Switched +12 (Red) are reversed for the Crossfire. The factory stereo system is Infinity, there is an amplifier in this system. Amplifier trigger (Turn on) mates to the blue with green stripe wire in the factory harness.

Radio Replacement, Removal and Installation Crossfire 18.1) Mate spliced aftermarket wire harness to factory wire harness.
Chrysler Crossfire Stereo Removal, Replacing and Installing 19.1) Aftermarket car stereo mounting sleeve.
Radio Replacement, Removal and Installation Crossfire 20.1) Feed wire harness and antenna adaptor through sleeve.
Chrysler Crossfire Stereo Removal, Replacing and Installing 21.1) Align sleeve with opening in dash.
Radio Replacement, Removal and Installation Crossfire 22.1) Push sleeve into opening, sleeve will stop when completely installed.
Chrysler Crossfire Stereo Removal, Replacing and Installing 23.1) In most cases, when dealing with sleeves, metal tabs are pried to the side to secure sleeve to opening. However, in this case you are unable to pry tabs.
Radio Replacement, Removal and Installation Crossfire 24.1) One self tapping 1/2 inch screw is needed.
Chrysler Crossfire Stereo Removal, Replacing and Installing 25.1) Secure sleeve in dash with screw through opening in sleeve. Screw up through sleeve. There is clearance for this short screw only up toward AC controls. Do not screw down.
Radio Replacement, Removal and Installation Crossfire 26.1) Attach connector to car stereo.

Radio Replacement, Removal and Installation Crossfire 28.1) Tie wire bundle and tuck in and down below opening.
Chrysler Crossfire Stereo Removal, Replacing and Installing 29.1) Slide car stereo partially into dash. Check car stereo operation before locking into place.
Radio Replacement, Removal and Installation Crossfire 30.1) Push car stereo in to lock in place.

Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 1.1) Pry edge of air bag logo from door panel releasing clip. All clips release with pry pressure. 
Crossfire Speaker Replacement, Remove and Install 2.1) Pull air bag logo down for access to opening.
Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 3.1) Remove T25 torx screw.
Crossfire Speaker Replacement, Remove and Install 4.1) Remove screw at door latch panel.
Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 5.1) Remove panel and set to side.
Crossfire Speaker Replacement, Remove and Install 6.1) At end of door, remove T8 torx screw.
Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 7.1) Remove second T8 screw from panel.
Crossfire Speaker Replacement, Remove and Install 8.1) Remove panel and set to side.
Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 9.1) Pry edge of insert panel on hand hold releasing clips.

Crossfire Speaker Replacement, Remove and Install 12.1) Remove front exposed T25 torx screw.
Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 13.1) Remove rear exposed T25 torx screw.
Crossfire Speaker Replacement, Remove and Install 14.1) Insert pry tool at top edge of small triangular panel on door panel.
Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 15.1) Pry down edge of panel to release clip.
Crossfire Speaker Replacement, Remove and Install 16.1) Remove panel and set to side.
Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 17.1) Pry edge of panel next to tweeter grill cover releasing clips.
Crossfire Speaker Replacement, Remove and Install 18.1) Pry along top edge of panel releasing clips.
Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 19.1) Pry along bottom edge of panel releasing clips.
Crossfire Speaker Replacement, Remove and Install 20.1) Pry back edge of panel releasing clips.
Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 21.1) Remove panel and set to side.
Crossfire Speaker Replacement, Remove and Install 22.1) Remove exposed T25 torx screw.
Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 23.1) Pry back bottom edge of door panel from door releasing clips.
Crossfire Speaker Replacement, Remove and Install 24.1) Pry along bottom edge of door panel releasing clips.
24.2) Pry up front and rear edges of door panel releasing clips.
Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 25.1) Pull bottom edge of door panel away from door verifying all clips are released.
Crossfire Speaker Replacement, Remove and Install 26.1) Pull back of door panel up out of window jam followed by front edge of door panel removed.
Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 27.1) Pull door panel back from door for access to back of panel.
Crossfire Speaker Replacement, Remove and Install 28.1) Locate wires to tweeter on door panel, slide foam covering from connector.
Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 29.1) Disconnect connector for tweeter.
Crossfire Speaker Replacement, Remove and Install 30.1) Locate door handle cable.
Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 31.1) Grasp cable at mounting base.
Crossfire Speaker Replacement, Remove and Install 32.1) Pull cable from base.
Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 33.1) Lift end of cable up out of slot on base to release.
Crossfire Speaker Replacement, Remove and Install 34.1) Grasp end of cable.
Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 35.1) Pull end of cable from lock to release.
35.2) Set door panel to side.
Crossfire Speaker Replacement, Remove and Install 36.1) Check door for any remaining door panel clips.
Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 37.1) Pry clips from door to remove.
Crossfire Speaker Replacement, Remove and Install 38.1) Slide clip into corresponding mounting slots on door panel ready for reinstallation.
Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 39.1) Remove screws securing speaker to door and remove speaker.
Crossfire Speaker Replacement, Remove and Install 40.1) Tweeter is mounted to back of door panel.
Removing Crossfire Speaker, Installation and Replacement 41.1) At mount, lift clips around tweeter to release and remove.
