Lexus SC400 Front Speaker Removal and Installation Lexus SC400 How to Remove and Install Front Speaker and Door Panel 1.1) Remove two screws at leading edge of door panel. 2.1) Lift front edge of control panel. 2.2) Pull forward releasing rear latch. 3.1) Remove connectors from control panel. 4.1) Remove screws along bottom edge of door panel. 5.1) Remove two screws inside pocket cavity. 6.1) Pry center insert from door open cavity. 7.1) Remove exposed screw. 8.1) Pull upper door panel from door. 9.1) Disconnect courtesy light connector. 10.1) Disconnect door open handle cable assembly and door lock cable assembly. 11.1) Remove screws securing car speaker to enclosure assembly.
Lexus SC400 Rear Deck Speaker Removal and Installation Lexus SC400 How to Remove and Install Rear Speaker Instruction 1.1) Pull up on leading edge of lower seat cushion releasing clips. 1.2) Pull lower cushion toward front of car releasing from seat belt mounts and remove cushion. 2.1) Remove bolt at bottom of rear back cushion on lower right. 3.1) Remove bolt at bottom of rear back cushion on lower left and center. 4.1) Lift rear seat cushion up, releasing seat from hooks and remove rear seat cushion. 5.1) Remove panel clips (2) at leading edge of rear deck panel. (Rear Deck Panel Removal continues after next step). Subwoofer Removal 6.1) Lift leading edge of subwoofer speaker grill releasing clips, pull panel toward front of car releasing rear clips. 6.2) Remove screws securing subwoofer to rear deck panel. NOTE - In most cases when this speaker sounds distorted the foam surround has deteriorated. It can be re-foamed by a local speaker repair shop. Note - Subwoofer speaker grill cover from above step must be completed before continuing. 7.1) Pull side seat belt panels toward front of car releasing clips. 8.1) Gently lift center of rear deck panel up, releasing clips. 9.1) Pull rear deck panel toward front of car after releasing clips. Watch each side of panel closely to see that they clear upper side panels. 10.1) Pictured here are the white clips on the rear deck panel. When reinstalling this panel, line these clips up with openings along bottom of rear window and push panel toward back or car. Again, watch sides of this panel to be sure they are in place below each side panel. 11.1) Remove four screws securing speaker and frame to rear deck. 12.1) From trunk, pull top of rear cover toward back of car releasing all clips along top of panel. This clips are similar to the ones on the rear deck panel and need to aligned when pushing panel toward front of car for re-installation. 13.1) From under side of rear deck, squeeze clips at each speaker position together on white locking clip to release speaker wire connector from top of rear deck. 14.1) Pull speaker wire connector up from rear deck panel after being release from above step. 15.1) With speaker wire and clip released from above step, disconnect connector by releasing trigger. 16.1) Remove speaker and frame from rear deck. 16.2) Gently pull back dust cover from speaker for access to four mounting screws for speaker. 17.1) We have found a 4" two way speaker can be installed at a fraction of the dealerships replacement cost.
CD Changer and Nakamichi Amplifier Removal Lexus SC400 CD Changer and Nakamichi Amplifier Removal 1.1) Remove mat and spare tire cover along bottom of trunk. 1.2) Remove three clips along edge of panel toward front of car. 2.1) Remove one clip on edge of panel along back of car. 3.1) Pull edge of rear panel back away from side panel. 4.1) Pull edge of side panel away from car, feed emergency gas cover cable and tap through slot in side panel. 4.2) Remove side panel and set to side. 5.1) Remove four bolts securing CD changer to side of car. 5.2) Remove CD Changer. 6.1) Remove exposed screws on remaining mounting plate for CD changer. 6.2) Nakamichi and Pioneer Amplifiers are located under mounting plate.
