Mazda Miata Speaker and Radio Removal and Replacement
*NOTE - BE CAREFUL! These consoles are brittle, it will crack! Usually at a bottom corner. The dealership cost is $75+ for a new one!     Mazda Miata How to Remove and Replace Car Stereo 1.1) Remove (2) screws from inside the center console box. 2.1) Remove (2) screw, one from each side of the console bezel and (1) screw under ashtray/drink holder. 2.2) Remove gear shift knob and remove the center console, use caution, be careful of gas cap and trunk open latches. 3.1) Remove one screw exposed from panel removal at bottom left of front dash panel. 4.1) Now! I've bent a thick coat hanger, (Special Tool) with a hook on one end and a handle. The handle is for better leverage when pulling on AC vents for removal. 5.1) Insert special tool into AC vent to catch back edge of vent. 5.2) IMPORTANT! When pulling vent from panel, be sure to apply pressure to top of front dash panel around vent to hold to dash. This is important because of trim panel mounting. 6.1) Remove two exposed screws in top of vent openings. (Not holding trim panel to dash while removing vents will break this mounting hardware!) 6.2) Pull trim panel from dash releasing clips. Check dash to see if clips were removed with panel. Remove clips and place back onto panel. 6.3) Remove four screws securing car stereo to dash. 6.4) Pull car stereo forward, disconnect antenna and connectors.

Mazda Miata Front Speaker Removal and Replacement Mazda Miata How to Remove and Install Front Speakers 1.1) From front edge of speaker panel, begin lifting panel releasing clips. All clips release with pressure. 2.1) Remove three screws securing car speaker to door panel. Tech Help Note - for determining correct aftermarket speaker wire installation see Speaker Phasing above.
