Mitsubishi Diamante Removing and Replacing Speaker

Note - These instructions are a short cut to removing and installing speakers. The full procedure requires rear seat and deck removal and is presently not available.
How to Remove and Install Rear Speaker 1.1) Locate speaker in trunk.
Removing and Installing Rear Deck Speakers 2.1) Remove first 10 mm bolt at edge of speaker.
DIY Factory Rear Speaker Removal and Installation 3.1) Remove second 10 mm bolt at edge of speaker.
Do It Yourself Car Speaker Removal and Installation 4.1) Remove third 10 mm bolt at edge of speaker.
Removing and Installing Factory Car Speakers 5.1) From back seat, lift edge of rear speaker grill.
Do-It-Yourself Factory Car Stereo Speaker Removal and Installation 6.1) Lift speaker grill up to allow speaker grill mounting post to lift out of hole and clear rear deck.
Removing and Installating Factory Car Stereo Speakers 7.1) Reach under speaker grill and lift grill cover up to have all three mounting posts clear rear deck panel.
Removal and Installation of Factory Car Speakers 8.1) Slide remaining third corner of speaker grill cover toward rear window to release tab and remove speaker grill cover.
Mitsubishi Diamante Rear Speaker Removal and Installation 9.1) Special tool needed, 90 degree screw driver.
How to Remove and Install Factory Speakers 10.1) Remove first of four speaker mounting screws. These screw locations can be found by looking down onto rear deck through rear window.
Do It Yourself How to Remove and Install Factory Speakers 11.1) Remove second mounting screw.
How to Removing and Installing Factory Car Speakers 12.1) When the rear deck is put together at factory, speakers are mounted into rear deck. Then a thin layer of insulation is placed down onto the rear deck and covered by the rear deck panel.
Do It Yourself Factory Car Stereo Speakers Removal and Installation

13.1) The insulation placed onto rear deck during installation may cover speaker mounting screws. Cut a slot into the insulation material to allow access to the mounting screw.

NOTE - IMPORTANT! Any and all cuts made during this process should not reach past the edges of the speaker grill. After installation of speaker, speaker grill cover will hide all cuts to rear deck.

Removal and Installation of Factory Speaekrs 14.1) Remove exposed screw.
Mitsubishi Diamante Rear Speaker Removal and Installation 15.1) Cut any material from speaker mounting screw for access and remove screw.
Removing and Installing Factory Car Stereo Speakers 16.1) From trunk side, locate connector at speaker.
17.1) Squeeze trigger on connector into connector to release.

Mitsubishi Diamante Removing Speaker, Replacement and Installation 1.1) Pry edge of tweeter from dash releasing clips.
Mitsubishi Diamante Removing Speaker, Replacing and Installing 2.1) Remove tweeter from opening and disconnect.

Mitsubishi Diamante Factory Front Speaker Removal and Installation Mitsubishi Diamante Front Door Speaker Removal and Installation
1.1) Pry top edge of small triangular panel at top front of door panel releasing clips. All clips release with pry pressure.
2.1) Release small panel from door panel.
3.1) Remove panel and set to side.
4.1) Remove screw from small opening at front of door panel.
5.1) On arm rest, locate small panel at bottom of hand hold cavity.
6.1) Pry edge of small releasing clips.
7.1) Remove small panel and set to side.
8.1) Remove exposed screw.
9.1) Pull door open handle to expose screw at front of cavity.
9.2) Remove screw.
10.1) Pry front edge of small trim panel releasing clips.
11.1) Lift small panel over door open handle.
12.1) Remove panel and set to side.
13.1) Place pry tool at back edge of control panel on arm rest.
14.1) Pry back edge of control panel up to release clip.
15.1) Lift back edge of control panel up.
16.1) Grasp back edge of control panel.
17.1) Pull control panel back to release front panel clip.
18.1) Remove control panel from arm rest cavity.
19.1) Locate first connector on control panel.
20.1) Squeeze at center of connector into connector to release.
21.1) Remove connector.
22.1) Squeeze trigger on second connector into connector to release and remove.
23.1) Remove control panel and set to side.
24.1) Driver's door only has Memory Power Seat control.
25.1) Locate wire harness in control panel cavity for Memory Power Seat control.
26.1) Squeeze trigger into connector to release.
27.1) Remove connector.
28.1) Pry front bottom edge of door panel from door releasing clips.
29.1) Pry along bottom edge of door panel releasing clips.
30.1) Pry back bottom edge of door panel releasing clips.
31.1) Pry up along back edge of door panel releasing clips.
32.1) Pry up along front edge of door panel releasing clips.
33.1) Pull bottom edge of door panel away from door verifying all clips have been released.
34.1) Lift back top edge of door panel up out of window jam.
35.1) Lift front top edge of door panel up out of window jam.
35.2) Pull top edge of door panel back for access to back of panel.
36.1) Locate wire harness for Courtesy Light on door panel.
37.1) Twist light base to release from door panel.
38.1) Locate wire harness to Trunk and Gas Cap Release switches.
39.1) Squeeze trigger into connector to release.
40.1) Remove connector.
40.2) Remove door panel and set to side.
41.1) Check door for any remaining door panel clips.
42.1) Pry clips from door to remove.
43.1) Place door panel clips into slots on door panel ready for reinstallation.
44.1) Remove four screws securing speaker to door.
45.1) Pry edge of speaker frame from door panel to release.
46.1) Locate connector at speaker.
47.1) Squeeze trigger into connector to release.
47.2) Remove connector.
48.1) Remove speaker.
49.1) At tweeter, remove two mounting screws.
50.1) Remove tweeter from door.
51.1) Squeeze trigger on connector into connector to release.
52.1) Remove tweeter.
53.1) During installation of tweeter, outside panel on door holds mounting anchors.

55.1) Small triangular tweeter cover has two keys located on the bottom of panel.
56.1) Keys mate to small openings on door, place keys into place and snap clips at top of panel into place.
