Oldsmobile Alero How to Remove and Install Car Stereo

Replacing Car Stereo, Remove and Install 1.1) Set Parking Brake and shift to mid gear.
How to Remove and Replace Car Radios 2.1) Remove cup holder rubber insert and set to side.
Replacing Car Stereo, Remove and Install 3.1) Reach into bottom of front pocket cavity.
How to Remove and Replace Car Radios 4.1) Remove mat at bottom of pocket cavity and set to side.
Replacing Car Stereo, Remove and Install 5.1) At front of gear shift knob, locate small slot.

Replacing Car Stereo, Remove and Install 7.1) Gently pry gear shift clip from opening.

Replacing Car Stereo, Remove and Install 11.1) Remove gear shift knob and clip, set to side.
How to Remove and Replace Car Radios 12.1) Gently pry back edge of gear shift trim panel to release clip. All clips release with pressure.
Replacing Car Stereo, Remove and Install 13.1) Work around all sides of insert panel releasing clips.

Replacing Car Stereo, Remove and Install 15.1) Rotate front edge of gear shift panel to passenger seat and let panel rest on seat.
How to Remove and Replace Car Radios 16.1) Gently pry bottom right side of front dash stereo trim panel to release clip.
Replacing Car Stereo, Remove and Install 17.1) Work up right side of front dash stereo trim panel releasing clips.
How to Remove and Replace Car Radios 18.1) Work across top of front dash stereo trim panel releasing clips.
Replacing Car Stereo, Remove and Install 19.1) Work down left side of front dash stereo trim panel releasing clips.
How to Remove and Replace Car Radios 20.1) Grasp front dash stereo trim panel and pull top edge from dash.
Replacing Car Stereo, Remove and Install 21.1) Pull entire front dash stereo trim panel from dash, watch all wires and vacuum tubing on panel not to pinch any connections.
How to Remove and Replace Car Radios 22.1) Gently turn top of panel right toward passenger seat and allow panel to lay down.
Replacing Car Stereo, Remove and Install 23.1) Laying front dash stereo trim panel down allows access to two mounting screws left of car stereo, remove screws.
How to Remove and Replace Car Radios 24.1) Remove one mounting screw right side of car stereo.
Replacing Car Stereo, Remove and Install 25.1) Pull car stereo forward from dash.

Replacing Car Stereo, Remove and Install 27.1) Release trigger on connector to disconnect.

GM Wire Harness Diagram, Wire Color Codes and Pin Configuration Wire color codes and wire diagrams
IMPORTANT - There are two (2) yellow*, two (2) gray and two (2) brown wires in this harness. Locate the +12 volt constant wire first. Label it or splice to constant wire on aftermarket stereo first. Swapping yellow wires will cause damage to any aftermarket stereo. Check fuses if your unable to find +12 volts.
