Mazda Millenia Distorted Bose Speaker Repair
Car Stereo Repair Home | Car Stereo Removal | BOSE Repair | FAQ | Shipping | Top 10 | About Us

We recently had another great customer drive over four hours to visit our repair facility. Found our website, then was referred to us by Bose customer service for help with their Bose system. After visiting their local dealership and being told $2400 would take care of it.
Locally we are able to troubleshoot many systems, usually finding common problems with specific audio systems for each vehicle. We post this information regularly. We are in the repair business and would like to see equipment that does not work properly here for repair. There are occasions where some of these problems can be taken care of without sending equipment for repair, this is the reason for our Do It Yourself pages.

On many occasions, we have heard about distorted speakers in the Mazda Millenia. It usually sounds like one of the front left or right speakers distorted. Actually, it is entire left or right side speakers sounding distorted. Distorted rear speakers are more difficult to determine.

Have you ever loaded your trunk with luggage, groceries or helped someone move?

We recently troubleshoot a Mazda Millenia with a distorted front driver's side speaker. We also found the rear driver's side speaker sounded distorted. The front speaker distortion was easy to determine. The rear speaker distortion was more difficult to determine. We remove the Bose amplifier, bench tested, no defect. Then we found the problem. This may not be the fix for all Mazda Millenia but we suggest you take a close look at your car before thinking about repair. If you determine this is a problem that needs repair, we hope you think of Factory Car Stereo Repair first!

From the trunk, look closely at the connections at the speaker. Luggage thrown into the trunk can break the connector from it's mount. This causes the speaker wire braid from the connector to the speaker to touch the metal frame of the speaker as the speaker cone moves up and down. When the speaker wire braid touches metal, it causes distortion in the speakers. The speaker is only available from the dealer$hip at this time. We wire tied the connector to the metal frame of the speaker in a way that the wire braid did not touch the metal frame of the speaker. The distortion disappeared.
Hope this takes care of a distortion problem you may encounter with this system, or we are here for your repair questions.
